Russian diver pays fishermen to release juvenile whale shark

A Russian diver bought a baby whale shark from Indonesian fisherman for one million  Rupiah (US$75) to save its life.

A diver from Moscow approached a local fisherman in Ambon, Indonesia, to try and save a juvenile whale shark the fisherman had just caught. The diver managed to find a local to interpret between him and the fisherman to bargain for the life of the baby shark. The fisherman asked for 1 million Indonesian rupiah to free it  - which the diver paid.
