Eerie Diving In Cheow Larn Lake

A scuba diver has successfully located the owner of a wedding ring he had found on a dive

Daniel Roark found the ring while diving in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico back in September. He posted the photo and details of the ring’s inscription on Facebook and launched a social media campaign to locate the ring’s owner.

‘Unfortunately there is no way for me to know whether it was lost or intentionally thrown into the ocean,’ Roark wrote on Facebook. ‘Assuming it was not the latter, I'd like to find the owner so I can send it to them.’

The photo was shared over 120,000 times, and news organisations started picking up the story. After about 50 false alarms, Roark finally located the couple, who had wedding photos of their matching rings, confirmed the inscription and even sent the receipt from the jewellers.

The groom had lost the ring while diving on their honeymoon, but thanks to Roark and the power of social media, the ring found its way back to its owner.
