Dive Turkey and discover caves, wrecks, reefs and adventure
With 8,000km of coastline, a perfect Mediterranean climate, great, visibility, fascinating historic wrecks and a growing number of marine parks, it is no wonder that Turkey is fast becoming a destination divers want to explore. Here's just five Turkish delights from our DIVE Turkey guide which is free with the summer issue of DIVE magazine
THE CANYON, KAS

As you head down to explore the wreck of the Dimitri in the crystal clear waters off Kas you pass through the dramatic canyon with its stunning vertical wall.
THE DAKOTA, KAS
Neil Hope
Another top dive in Kas - which many of the local divers believe is the best scuba resort in Turkey - is the Dakota. The wreck of this former Turkish Air Force plane, sunk for the delight of divers, sits on the white sand bottom and looks as if it is about to take off from a ghostly underwater runway.
THE COMMON OCTOPUS

During the day this delightful beast hides in nooks and crannies but at night comes out to hunt in open water. A treat you can find on most dives if you look carefully.
THE FIRST WORLD WAR WRECKS OF GALLIPOLI
John Bantin
To date, the position of 216 wrecks from the First World War have been located near the fated beaches of Gallipoli. Ships, such as the HMS Majestic - above - now make fascinating historic dives.
ANCIENT WRECKS, GÔKOVA BAY

Sixty miles east of Bodrum is this stunning protected area - besides memorable sites littered with ancient relics including amphorae, this is also a great place to spot the rare Mediterranean monk seal.
