Featured Photographer | Andy Murch
We are delighted to introduce our new featured photographer Andy Murch and his outstanding underwater images
Born with an insatiable thirst for adventure, Andy escaped from the UK in the 1980s and wandered through more than seventy countries collecting experiences and images.
After learning to dive in the mid 90s, he soon became obsessed with the ocean’s top predators, in particular sharks and rays.
Andy worked as a dive instructor in the Caribbean and as a submersible pilot for Seamagine Hydrospace, before becoming a full-time shooter in 2003. His images have since appeared in countless books and magazines around the world.
Andy’s is the creator of the ever-expanding shark information database on Elasmodiver.com. A website that includes thousands of his shark and ray images.
He is also the driving force behind the Predators in Peril Project: an initiative that captures and distributes images of long-lining and gillnetting and focuses on the plight of many lesser known endangered sharks that desperately need some time in the limelight. You can follow Andy’s conservation work at: www.predatorsinperil.org
Between photographic assignments and conservation field trips, Andy runs Big Fish Expeditions, a popular adventure travel company that puts divers and photographers in the water with the world’s largest and most dynamic predators.
