Take 360° Underwater Videos
Take your underwater films to a whole new level with the 360 Abyss, a camera system that takes 360-degree panoramic video by housing six GoPro cameras at once
Touted by its makers, the New York-based 360Heros Inc, as the ‘world’s smallest and most versatile 360 underwater video gear’, the 360Abyss can take videos of up to 7.5K resolution (7,500 x 3,750 pixels) at a maximum depth of 1,000 metres.
‘Our goal in developing the 360Abyss was to put power in the hands of divers and cinematographers,’ said 360Heros CEO Michael Kintner, who invented the 360Abyss. ‘We wanted to push the limits in terms of what was possible in filming 360 video underwater.’
The 360Abyss features individual camera compartments sealed with either polycarbonate (for positive buoyancy) or anodized (for negative buoyancy) doors, and fitted with specially designed polycarbonate exterior domes to maximise each GoPro camera’s field of view.
The set up even allows you to take virtual reality videos which you can view with the Oculus Rift and other compatible gear.
The fancy gadget comes at a steep price: You can now pre-order the housing for $5,395.00, that is excluding accessories and the GoPro cameras.
