Short Film Release: A Ray Of Light II

Following the success of A Ray of Light, David Diley returned to Mallorca and documented ‘Phase 2’ of Brad Robertson’s Mallorca Stingray Survey

In 2012, diver and filmmaker David Diley released A Ray of Light, a short film about one man’s efforts to protect a huge population of stingrays in Mallorca, Spain. Australian diver Brad Robertson found himself struggling to juggle his family life and conservation work as he launched a survey to safeguard Mallorca’s stingrays on a limited budget.

A Ray of Light received critical acclaim and this week, Diley released the sequel, A Ray of Light II in which he shadows Robertson and his small team as they head out to catch and tag stingrays in the Bay of Palma. A Ray of Light II is a more intimate look into the work that goes into the stingray survey and the ways that Robertson’s life has changed over the last two years. Watch the film below:
