Trailer: Scotland's Basking Sharks
Basking Shark Scotland concluded 2015 with a short film of the year's top encounters
The Isles of the Inner Hebrides are one of the UK's hot spots for basking sharks sightings. In 2015, Basking Shark Scotland (BSS) recorded more than 700 sightings between April and October as well as more than a thousand cetacean encounters and sightings of the ocean sunfish and leatherback turtles.
The underwater and aerial footage, shot by Luke Saddler and Shane Wasik, is part of a multi-year project by the organisation to capture the Hebridean wildlife. The final film is due to be released later this year.
'We are hoping to bring the magic of the Hebrides to the whole world,' says Shane Wasik, owner of BSS.
