New Compact Digital Underwater Camera From SeaLife
SeaLife have launched a brand new underwater camera for 2017, the DC2000
Marketed as an underwater compact camera offering 'DSL-like imaging', the DC2000 features a 1/2.3”, 20 Megapixel sensor and RAW image capabilities alongside the standard JPEG format.
The camera offers a 'Quick Set Mode' dial and large keys for changing settings while underwater, plus the all-important shortcut key for accessing regularly used menu features.
Four underwater shooting modes are available, plus three inbuilt colour correction filters (shallow, deep and 'green' water settings) but the camera also has a manual white-balance control for full customisation of the picture according to depth and visibility.
The inner camera (L) and the external SL975 Fisheye Lens (R)
Manual shutter and aperture settings (F1.8 to F11 in 0.3 stop increments) are available for divers who prefer having more control over their photography, with in-built optical image stabilisation, autofocus from 10cm to infinity and an 'Intelligent Auto' mode which automatically selects the best shooting mode for photography at the surface. Continuous burst shooting is also available.
The inner camera is shock-resistant and waterproof and the rugged, rubber armoured external housing is waterproof to a depth of 60m.
The system is expandable with Sea Dragon Flashes, Photo-Video Lights and the SeaLife SL975 Fisheye lens. Components are available separately or as part of a package. The Pro Flash Set includes the Sea Dragon external strobe, the Pro 2500 set with the Sea Dragon 2500 light and the 'Pro Duo' comes with a Sea Dragon Flash and Sea Dragon 2300 Auto Light, which features an auto-detect mode that will disable the light if it detects an external flash.
Other features include wi-fi to preview, download and share pictures with a smartphone or tablet, and the camera is compatible with Micro SD, SDHC, SDXC and UHS-1 memory cards.
The DC2000 is sold with the housing as standard, the camera and associated accessories are available from authorised Scubapro dealers.
