Underwater Photography Guide's 2019 Ocean Art Competition is Open
The Underwater Photography Guide's 2019 Ocean Art Underwater Photo Competition has opened for entries, and will be accepting images for this year's competition until 30 November, 2019.
Ocean Art is one of the most prestigious underwater photo competitions in the world, attracting both amateur and professional photographers alike, with a long list of prizes (see below) valued at over $80,000 up for grabs. Sixteen categories ensure all photo disciplines and cameras compete fairly, and each of the winning images, of which there are more than 75, will be featured in a portfolio of the best underwater photos of the year.
The 2019 competition will see changes to some of the existing categories. Due to recent advances in mirrorless technology, the Mirrorless and Open categories have been merged, the novice categories will be expanded to include Wide-angle and Macro, and there will be three compact camera categories, ensuring underwater photographers of all levels have a chance at winning. Two new categories - Blackwater and Underwater Conservation - have been added.
Judges include world-renowned underwater photographers Tony Wu, Martin Edge, Marty Snyderman and Scott Gietler. Photos must be submitted through the Ocean Art image portal before the deadline of 23:59 PM PST on 30 November 30 2019.
