I have loved the ocean since I was a child. I was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and my routine was to go to the beach on the weekends. However, believe it or not, I was afraid of fish, so my passion for scuba diving came only when I was older. I was able to overcome my fears and started my underwater life in 2009. Until then, I was not a photographer, but I felt the need to have a way of showing others this fascinating world. People only respect what they know and what they care about, so I hope I can help some people that don't dive to understand how important it is to respect and preserve the nature. I have a special love for sharks and will do my best to help destroy their image of 'man eater'.
Nowadays, scuba diving and underwater photography are the only things that make me relax 100 per cent, focus on the present moment and forget everything else.
Bull shark with a hook in the mouth - Bimini, Bahamas
Clown fish: I like small creatures and macro photography a lot. This one was in Wakatobi, Indonesia
Dolphin: this moment was one of the most special ones underwater. In Revillagigedo, the wild dolphins come really close to the divers and really interact with them over a long time. They stop in front of you and stay there for a while
Great Hammerhead: I had the chance to dive with great hammerheads in Bimini, Bahamas. We had eight sharks at the same time during the dive. This one was four metres long
Great Hammerhead close-up: if you look closely, he is almost losing one tooth. I don't think it will make difference for him!
Lemon Shark: smiling for the camera - Tiger Beach, Bahamas
Manta Rays: two giants during a dive in Revillagigedo, Mexico
Marine Iguana: one of my favourite places to dive in the world is Galápagos where you can see marine iguanas feeding
Pygmy Seahorse: I had the chance to see this tiny and incredible pygmy seahorse during my trip to Wakatobi, Indonesia
Sea lion close-up: A puppy was playing with my strobes and then I was able to take this picture - Los Islotes, La Paz, Mexico
Sea lion playing: Depending on the season when you visit Los Islotes, you can find a lot of puppies and 'teenager' sea lions playing around with sea stars or small rocks. It is really cute and funny!
Shark b&w: This photo was also in Tiger Beach. We were surrounded by more than 100 sharks in a single dive, with 6 different species. This one is a lemon shark.
Tiger shark reef: My favourite animals are sharks, for sure. In 2018, I went to Tiger Beach and was able to dive, for the first time, with tiger sharks. Really amazing!
Whale shark vortex: I was able to register the exact moment the whale shark swallows the water to filter the plankton
