Game-changing 360º camera that doesn't need a housing
Nikon may dominate the market in professional quality DSLRs, but it has fallen behind in compacts and has never got going with action cameras. But this chunky little marvel could be a game changer.
The just-released KeyMission 360 takes fully immersive 360º videos and photographs (with some neat software stitching it all together on the fly) and is waterproof to 30m straight out of the box.
It has ultra-wide angle lenses on both of its largest faces which feed 20-megapixel 1/2.3-inch sensors capable of capturing footage in 4K. As is the way with action cameras is it as simple as can be to use. The top of the camera has a big record button plus a low-battery indicator. One of the thin sides has a button to move through various modes (or achieve the same with an easy-to-use app on your phone), the other hides a swappable battery and memory card. It has 10 different mounting options.
Early reports suggest the 360º works really well and the image quality is stunning. All this for (in the US) less than $500. How long before you see on one every dive?
