Updated Scubapro Equalizer BCD
The Equalizer is an all-purpose front-adjustable BC with plenty of features at a very reasonable price.
The new front-adjustable Equalizer is made of 420 denier nylon so it’s lightweight, and the polyurethane-coated exterior aids durability and also helps the jacket to dry quickly.
The wrap-around bladder places lift under the arms and around the diver's waist, which many find more comfortable than back-inflate designs both underwater and at the surface. The backplate is full-sized and rigid, with a single tank strap system. Integrated weights have a flat buckle which straps the weights in place, with a squeeze-and-pull pinch clip for quick release.
One new addition to the design is Scubapro's new self-locking ring design on the primary left-shoulder valve, preventing it from inadvertently coming loose. Cummerbund and double-pull straps are standard with two large Velcro side pockets, stainless steel knife grommets, four stainless steel D-rings and two octopus pockets.
With a dry weight between 2.8kg (XS) and 3.1kg (XL) it's not much heavier than Scubapro's dedicated travel BCD - the 'Go', but without the Go's fully flexible backplate.
The Equalizer is available at authorised SCUBAPRO dealers.
