Turtles Hatch Live On Camera
An infrared, high-definition camera has recorded the hatch of about 100 loggerhead sea turtles on a beach in the Florida Keys last Friday
Just before 9 pm on Friday live viewers witnessed the 3-inch-long hatchlings emerge from their nest and crawl towards the Atlantic.
The use of live webcams is part of an ongoing effort to raise awareness of conservation issues affecting sea turtles. All of the five sea turtle species found in Florida waters are considered as either threatened or endangered and are protected under Florida Statutes.
