Aquatica Foundation Launched Ahead of Aquatica Submarines Belize Blue Hole Expedition
Aquatica Submarines, currently planning a historic voyage to the bottom of the Belize Blue Hole, has announced the launch of a brand new conservation initiative, the Aquatica Foundation.
President and CEO of Aquatica, Harvey Flemming, has formed the new organisation to bring together global experts and take actions towards three primary ocean imperatives: Exploration, Restoration and Education.
The not-for-profit organisation is supporting the Aquatica’s Blue Hole Belize 2018 Expedition in concert with the expedition partner NGOs: Ocean Unite, Oceanic Global, Oceana, The Fabien Cousteau Ocean Learning Center, and Belize Audubon Society. As founder, Mr Flemming will also be taking on the role as the Managing Director of the foundation.
The Belize expedition has also announced announce support from new sponsors Weeks Abroad and Empire Group. 'The Weeks Abroad community is full of super-achievers who've done some amazing things, so it seemed like a natural fit,' says Co-founder of Weeks Abroad and explorer, Joby Weeks. 'We’re proud to be supporting the team on this landmark expedition.'
