Call For Wildlife Photo Entries

The UK Natural History Museum’s prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition opens in January

From 5 January, wildlife photgraphers can submit their best pictures to the Natural History Museum’s 51st Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition. Open to both amateur and professional photographers around the world, as well as young photographers aged 17 and under, the renowned competition celebrates the very best of wildlife photography.

‘Great pictures of nature have one thing in common – they are unforgettable,’ says Sir David Attenborough, who has presented the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Awards several times. ‘They can also be a profound source of beauty, wonder and joy.’

Next year’s competition is open until 26 February. A total of 101 winners will be chosen by an international jury, including American nature photographer Thomas D. Mangelsen, French aerial photographer Thierry Vezon and British underwater photographer Dr Alex Mustard.

Winners receive a cash prize and a trip to London to attend the awards ceremony. Winning photos are displayed in an exhibition held in the Natural History Museum before touring worldwide.
