DDRC Healthcare Technical Diver Health Survey
Hyperbaric research specialists DDRC Healthcare is asking for technical divers to contribute to its latest survey as part of ongoing research into scuba diving-related healthcare.
While decompression theory has advanced significantly over the years, the mechanisms which trigger pressure-related injuries, particularly with respect to decompression sickness, are far from being fully understood. Pre-existing medical conditions, age, overall health and other factors such as alcohol consumption are all known factors, but as human physiology varies so widely, and data is so deficient, investigation as to the root causes of diving-related injury and illness often prove inconclusive.
DDRC Healthcare's technical diver health survey comprises of a maximum of 58 questions and covers a range of aspects related to technical divers: from the equipment and gas mixtures used, depths most commonly visited, dive planning, pre- and post-dive consumption of food and drink, plus the general health of the diver and prior diving-related ailments they may have experienced.
The survey is completely anonymous with no data traceable back to the participant and takes only 5-10 minutes to complete.
