Dive Around the Pier with Oyster Diving This July
Each year, around 50,000 watersports enthusiasts descend on one of the UK's most popular beaches for Europe's largest free beach festivals, for a weekend of competitions and entertainment, raising thousands of pounds for charities along the way.
Events include live music, a kids stage, lots of watersports events including scuba diving, surfing, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, kite surfing and windsurfing. Brighton-based PADI Five Star Dive centre Oyster Diving will be looking after this year's scuba diving activities which include:
Trial Dives: Oyster Diving’s instructors will be conducting trial dives in the 20m outdoor demo pool and anyone aged 10 years or over are welcome to participate.
Dive Around the Pier: Oyster has arranged a boat dive around the old West Pier on Sunday, 7 July at 12.30pm. The dive is open to anyone who is certified to the equivalent of Open Water diver and has dived within the last 12 months. The boat will meet at Oyster Diving’s offices on Shoreham Harbour. Rental equipment and tank fills can be provided on the day - for more details visit Oyster Diving’s Paddle Round the Pier web page.
2019 Underwater Summer Games: Divers who enjoy a bit of underwater fun can enter the Underwater Summer Games, Oyster Diving's annual charity event in aid of the Scuba Trust. The Scuba Trust helps people with disabilities experience the joy and freedom of scuba diving by arranging and subsidising training for those who, due to their disabilities, find it difficult to do so.
