The annual Cave Camp, an opportunity for cave enthusiasts to meet like-minded divers and dive in some of the best cave systems in the world, is just around the corner.
The two-week event is held each year in Tulum, Mexico, in the middle of nine of the ten biggest underwater cave systems on Earth. Along with the diving, Cave Camp also features workshops and presentations from top cave diving professionals, plus an opportunity for social networking with fellow lovers of the sport.
One- or two-week packages are available between 7 and 21 September. All packages include self-catering accommodation, with no limits on the number of presentations and educational workshops (such as rescue or photography) that can be attended. All attendees will receive a Cave Camp t-shirt and goody bag, there will be five fully-catered social events - including the RAID Mexican Night - and everybody will automatically be entered into the Cave Camp prize draw.
Cave Camp was founded by IANTD/TDI Full Cave instructors Lanny (also a CCR instructor) and Claire Vogel of Underworld Tulum. Other team members who will be joining the event include Garry Dallas, James Draker, new Liberty sidemount instructor Marissa Eckert, Ian France, Jon Kieren, and Steve Lewis
Places are limited 'to preserve the friendly and intimate character of the event and to minimize the environmental impact.' There are still a few places available, however, potential attendees are advised to book asap to avoid disappointment.
Prices are USD $1099 for the two-week package and USD $849 for the one-week package. Flights, airport transfers, cenote entrance fees, cylinder rental, gas, training courses and food for days with no catered social are not included in the price.
