y-40 deepest pool

Deepest pool in the world opens

The deepest swimming pool in the world has opened its doors in Italy, near Padua

Y-40 is designed for scuba diving and freediving, and it's deepest point is 40m, though there are ledges at different depths. The pool holds 4,300 cubic metres of water, measuring 21m by 18m at the surface. The pool's also kept between 32-34 C, meaning there's no need to wear a wetsuit!

There are 'caves' for practising technical diving and the pool will be used for teaching scuba diving and freediving, as well as filming and photography.

The pool sits within the complex of a 4-star hotel, Terme Millepini.
