Meet the Lucky Winner of A Free Diving Holiday in Sardinia
Although she told us in an e-mail that she was 'absolutely elated at winning the dive holiday,' mother-of-two Bonnie, who works in retail and events in Chester, has yet to learn to dive. Although she's always been keen on becoming a diver, family commitments and 'other things' have left it 'on the back burner' until now, but after a holiday to Jamaica earlier this year, 'seeing the amazing sea life while snorkelling made me really want to pursue it,' she says.
'When I got back,' said Bonnie, 'I started looking into it seriously with local clubs and started following DIVE Magazine and reading the articles online which is where I came across the competition.' After signing up in May, she 'hadn't thought much more about the competition as I didn't really think I'd have a chance of winning!'
Bonnie will be taking her diving certified husband Sion with her, whose last dive was on the Great Barrier Reef around a decade ago. 'I am really looking forward to discovering a new world underwater and hopefully what will be a great new hobby with my husband,' she told us. 'Thank you so much for this prize, which is finally making me do something I have wanted for a long time!'
Here at the magazine, we're delighted (and maybe a little jealous!) to announce Bonnie as the winner of the competition, and wish her the best of luck and enjoyment of what will hopefully become a life-long love of diving.
