New Direct Flights to Aqaba with Easyjet and Dive Worldwide
Beginning this November, divers will be able to escape for a winter sun diving adventure to Aqaba, Jordan, more easily than ever before with the advent of new weekly flights from easyJet.
Dive Travel specialists Dive Worldwide believes the Jordanian resort of Aqaba, home to treasures both above and underwater to be one of the finest dive destinations offering everything from wreck diving, snorkelling and sandy beaches to the nearby UNESCO-protected Wadi Rum and Petra.
Previously accessible only through indirect flights via Amman, the new service to Aqaba has a flight time of less than five hours and will be available every Saturday from 10 November until 23 March 2019.
With a 25km-long coastline offering 20 shore dive sites and warm water all year round, Aqaba is a dive location suitable for all levels of experience. This week-long trip to the resort showcases the very best of the southern part of Jordan. Divers can enjoy a 10-dive package and visit some of the best reefs, such as Oliver's Canyon, where encounters with feathertail stingrays and hawksbill turtles are common, and the Cedar Pride, one of the Red Sea's most famous wrecks.
The Hercules C-130 transport aircraft sunk last year (pictured above) is not to be missed. Divers are also able to make excursions out into the desert to explore the local villages and historical sites, and learn more about this fascinating country.
