3D Interactive Dive Planning App for Aqaba Dive Sites

aqaba 1000 1

The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) is to launch a smart phone application for divers.

The new app will help divers familiarise themselves with the dive sites and plan their dives on their tablets or phones, allowing them to 'virtually create, record and share their dive plans,' according to a press release from the ASEZA tourism body. The idea behind the scheme is to allow fellow divers to brief and share their dives, both as a record of their experiences and as an aid to diver safety.

The Diving Aqaba Application uses interactive 3D underwater maps based on high-resolution sonar, satellite and video data. Features include:

  • Interactive 3D maps
  • 20+ dive sites
  • virtual Dive-Mode.
  • 4 visualization modes
  • Dive-planning feature
