Dive Worldwide Introduces Delayed Deposit Scheme
Specialist tour operator Dive Worldwide has introduced a delayed deposit scheme to encourage divers to book ahead during the current crisis. The scheme will allow guests to book a selected range of holidays now, without any outlay, only paying the deposit once travel restrictions to the destination are lifted.
Phil North, Product Manager at Dive Worldwide said: 'As we’re faced with more weeks of uncertainty, our eagerness to get out and explore not just our local area, but far-flung destinations is growing. Whilst that is our current situation, the day will soon come when we’re able to venture outdoors and enjoy a well-deserved diving adventure too. We want to make it easier than ever to book ahead and look ahead to this future.'
Vilamendhoo Island, Maldives
Located in the southeast corner of the Maldives’ South Ari Atoll, Vilamendhoo Island Resort is surrounded by tropical palm trees and sits alongside a turquoise lagoon and 900m wide sand beach. There are two swimming pools and a wide range of activities for adults and children available including water sports, diving, tennis, a playground, games room and gym.
The onsite dive centre (operated by Euro Divers) is located on a private jetty, just a few metres from the house reef. The reef has ten entry/exit points around the island, suitable for snorkellers and divers on the unlimited shore diving package. There are over 40 dive sites to explore including reefs, wrecks and channel dives. A range of PADI courses is available.
Experienced divers can explore the house reef from the shore for most of the week, but it is also possible to get out on the dhoni to some incredible dive sites such as Vilamendhoo Caves (home to rays and sharks) and Khudarah Thila, a protected area with abundant marine life and a very popular dive. There are plenty of channel dives where guests can drift along looking out for large pelagic encounters, including turtles, sharks and rays.
