Paralenz 'Blue Friday' Campaign Raises $25,950 for Reef-World
A campaign run by Danish underwater action camera specialists Paralenz has raised $25,950 for The Reef-World Foundation during its recent 'Blue Friday' campaign, which offered $150 off the Paralenz Dive Camera+ ($549 from $699). Following the campaign's success, Paralenz has extended the sale and donation campaign until Christmas.
Paralenz partnered with The Reef-World Foundation to support its sustainable diving initiative Green Fins, which Reef-World coordinates internationally in partnership with the UN Environment Programme.
For every camera sold during the company’s Blue Friday campaign – an ocean-positive spin on Black Friday – Paralenz donated $50 to the Green Fins initiative’s work, which is devoted to protecting the world's coral reefs.
'We stand by the belief that if everyone does a little, it all of a sudden becomes a lot,' said a spokesperson for Paralenz. 'This Blue Friday demonstrates that Paralenz has the potential of helping to counter the steep decline of our Ocean in multiple ways. The massive engagement from our users is pushing us in the right direction. This is just the beginning of our participation.'
'We’re absolutely blown away by the staggering amount raised,' said Samantha Craven, Programmes Manager at The Reef-World Foundation. Thank you so much to Paralenz and everyone who contributed! The vital funds raised will make a huge impact on our work to protect coral reefs around the world through the Green Fins initiative.'
