Explore other inhabited and uninhabited islands, sunbathe on a sand bank and visit resort islands where the bikini and alcohol restrictions do not apply or just lie back and allow time to pass by.

Diving in the Maldives is a very unique experience not only for experienced divers but also for beginners. Once you have discovered the underwater world here it will be difficult to find others of its kind. The water is azure blue, warm, and the varieties of dive spots are stunning. You can enjoy drift dives in channels, as well as discovering wrecks, caves, overhangs, and exceptional beautiful reefs. Renowned for the abundance of big aquatic animals such as Whale Sharks and Manta Rays together with the diversity of corals, sharks and fish of all sizes the Maldives sets itself apart from other dive locations around the world.

The dive sites in Maldives are broadly divided into: ‘Thilas’ - a mountain underwater; ‘Kandus’ - a corridor or passage in the atoll and the reefs inside the lagoons. The’ Kandus’ and the ‘Thilas’ are commonly affected by strong currents, whilst the reefs inside the lagoons are protected areas. It goes without saying that all diving is dependent on the prevailing weather and current conditions, however, being in the hands of experts; our crews will choose the most suitable dive site for the conditions and level of diver experience.

The dive teams based at our local dive centres are led by professional, experienced dive instructors who have also worked in tourist resorts. They will take you to the best dive spots and introduce you to the characteristics of the underwater world of the Maldives. All our dive centres offer boat dives and a full range of PADI courses and will always ensure you get the best out of your dive. If you are learning to dive you can do anything from completing the open water section of your PADI Open Water certification to completing the full PADI Open Water certification, your time split between studying theory and actually diving. Whatever you choose to do you can be ensured of fun and safe diving with us.

The dive season runs all year round but from November to May the conditions are close to perfection due to calm seas and brilliant visibility. Divers are transported to dive spots by a common local wooden boat known as a dhoni. The dhoni is equipped with everything for a day’s diving – tanks, weights, emergency equipment, life vests, First Aid & emergency oxygen.

Dependent on when you last dived, an obligatory "check dive" is held, which is a great opportunity to check everybody’s scuba gear and diving skills. For divers who haven't dived for a while, this will also serve as a great refresher course and a nice calm dive site is chosen for the check dive.  Ensure to bring logbook and dive certification.
