Interactive Map Highlights Global Dive and Travel Information
The disruption to the dive and travel industry caused by Covid-19 has been immense. As the world slowly opens up once more to tourism, finding accurate information as to whether or not it's possible to visit a particular location – assuming travel restrictions in one's own country of residence have been lifted – can be difficult.
PADI has published an interactive map to help identify places where diving is permitted and which dive centres might be open in those locations. According to PADI, the information behind the map is 'collated at source from 6,750 dive centres' and will be updated regularly as the worldwide situation evolves.
The map provides information as to whether diving is permitted in a particular location, and also what the current entry and exit requirements are for tourists. Some countries have allowed diving to restart but only for domestic tourism, as international flights are still suspended.
It's important that divers planning to visit a particular location check with tour operators and their own government's travel advisories before making a booking.
